Bribery has many names in Indian languages. Let’s talk about omni-present government offices, where you find, it is an integral part of the daily routine of the office. A novice salesman walked into the office of the government college to get share in the tender for plastic chairs. He came to report his manager with a smiling mien and extreme excitement- “Sir, we have come lowest in the tender. The principal of the college offered me congrats. We have won and the order is ours”.

The Jan Lokpal Bill (Citizen's ombudsman Bill) is a draft anti-corruption bill drawn up by prominent civil society activists seeking the appointment of a Jan Lokpal, an independent body that would investigate corruption cases, complete the investigation within a year and envisages trial in the case getting over in the next one year.

Government Securities are securities issued by the Government for raising a public loan or as notified in the official Gazette. They consist of Government Promissory Notes, Bearer Bonds, Stocks or Bonds held in Bond Ledger Account. They may be in the form of Treasury Bills or Dated Government Securities.

Whether religion liberates or frustrates an individual is a highly subjective question. The answer varies depending on the individual experiences and circumstances, attitude and approach. Religion should elevate an individual on to a higher plane of consciousness.

Our preamble of the Indian Constitution says, that India is “sovereign, socialist, secular, democratic, republic” then how can the caste system prevail and consequently reservations? Today, this evil system persists and plays a vital role in the society as the major weapon for vote bank politics.

The whole perspective of Mandal commission regarding reservations are gradually being extended and expanded to sections of people, demanding reservations within reservations, in State and Central jobs. Earlier we had seen the agitation of the Gujjar’s and now the Jat’s. The agitators have found a simple way to force the attention of political leaders and the concerned Government, by affecting the rail movement. Consciously, they try to influence the economy of the country.

India is land of unity among diversities, as has been witnessed in the past and to some extent even today, we have this feeling of oneness among us. It has diversities in respect of religion, caste, creed, culture, language but underlying these differences, there flows a stream of fraternity. Thus we can proudly say incredible India. Unfortunately, the incredibility of India sometimes faces a question mark when we see an unbelievable diversity among the rich and poor sections of the society and unity in this area has still remained a dream yet to be fulfilled. Is it at all possible to materialize this dream is the biggest question which lurks in the mind of those who are concerned about their country to some extent.
